A: I did not find replacement parts at Home Depot. Just bought the entire new fan unit & it fit right into the old existing fan housing without having to modify anything. Quick fix & works well.

A: Hello, i don't think it can because the depth of it can't fit in a wall. it needs enough clearance which a ceiling usually has. they do make in-wall fans, but probably without a light.
by|May 5, 2023
A: Yes I believe so
by|May 5, 2023
A: This unit is designed to be installed in the ceiling only. Changing the orientation will affect operation and performance.
by|May 5, 2023
A: I don't see any reason why it could not be installed that way. It might be less efficient.
by|May 5, 2023
A: I see no reason why not.

A: Hi Color, we do not offer the 769RL on HomeDepot.com with a white grill. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot!

Q:Will this fan/light assembly (not housing) fit in existing 8814R "A" unit. Just want the fan/light.

Answer This Question
A: Been there; tried that. The assemblies are spot welded or riveted to the housing. When I discovered that, I went ahead and replaced both of my fan/lights even through the old housing was still good.. Other than the attic crawl, it was not that difficult..
by|May 5, 2023
A: The internal "guts" of the fans are not interchangeable in the two housings. For additional assistance, please contact our Technical Support Department at 888-336-6151.

Q:How noise it is this fan?

Answer This Question
A: This fan is rated at 3 sones. You will be able to tell it is on, but it is not overly loud.

A: The noise that fans make is all relative. The greater the CFM (cubic feet per minute of air it moves), the more noise that the fan blades will make. But if your bathroom is a normal size, you do not want to install anything less than a 70 CFM or it will not do an adequate job of removing steam and odors.
by|May 5, 2023
A: I do not how to take the measurement but is very soft to me.
by|May 5, 2023
A: Not very loud, but loud. It has a small engine and you won't forget it it's on. Doesn't do a bad job, however my has a bumping sound like it's hitting the inside somewhere. However, I still haven't figured out way yet.

Q:Will a 769rl fan kit fit in a 763rl housing?
by|Jul 13, 2017

Answer This Question
A: The fans are not kits. The assemblies are either riveted or spot welded to the housing.
by|Feb 12, 2019
A: While the housing size for both fans is the same, the orientation may be slightly different. We do not recommend putting a 769RL inside the 763RL housing. Please contact our Technical Support Department at 888-336-6151 for additional assistance.

Answer This Question
A: To change the light bulb, you only need to remove the lens, not the entire grille. To remove the lens, determine which 2 sides have the tabs. Gently squeeze those 2 sides to remove the tabs from the slots. The lens should then be able to be removed.

A: The White trim cover is just that, a cover. Just click it off and replace the bulb. This is a VERY easy task to do.
by|Dec 18, 2018
A: The center part of the cover can easily be removed. Determine which two sides of the center part have the plastic clip attachment. With a thin tool of some type, insert the tool between the center cover and outer cover and push on the attachment clip with the thin tool to gently pry the middle cover off a little. Once it begins to come off, it is easy to removed. The bulb is right behind the center cover. Be careful not to force the cover or you may break the attaching clip. It is plastic
You may want to consider using an LED bulb to last longer.
