Q:We would like to use this product on a 2nd story porch and need the floor to be water tight like an awning. Do you have a recommendation for an underlayment in this application? Tar paper over T&G plywood?
by|Jun 26, 2020
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: You would have to build up your porch to be watertight before putting these on. We would recommend something that can at least hold up the weight of these tiles along with whatever you plan on using at the top.

Q:is this solid if ripped will it look the same on the cut as it looks uncut
by|Oct 28, 2019
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hi, Rob. You can see what the core of this board looks like here: https://www.newtechwood.com/ultrashield-advantage/. If you rip the board, the core will be exposed, which is no different than when you receive 8 foot pre-cut boards. However, we do recommend as best practice, to seal any exposed ends using a water-based sealer made for composite boards. If you have any other questions, please reach out to inquiry@newtechwood.com.
