A:  I did not see a motor break down in Ridgid web site https://www.ridgid.com/us/en/power-tools Try calling Ridgid and give them the model number of the saw, If your model number is MS255SR give the the motor number 3406259A they then can ID the brushes 1-866-974-3443 (open Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm EST).

Q:If Ridgid does not make or support this item. Why is their name on it. I have always thought that Ridgid made quality tools and then backed them.

Answer This Question

A:  I do not understand the basis for your statement-question. Ridgid stands by all the tools they manufacture. Including the Rigid 10 inch sliding miter saw.

by|May 4, 2023

A:  Rigid manufactures this tool.

by|May 3, 2023

A:  Ridgid does not manufacture this saw. Calling Ridgid's support line will confirm that. Ridgid informed me that the saw is manufactured by Chevron, and that matters related to the saw should be directed to Chevron at 1-866-974-3443. I can't answer your question about "why", except to say that it's not uncommon for manufacturers to farm out production to other companies. Having said all that, I'd like to point out that this has been the best slider I've owned, and the online reviews are impressive.

Q:What gauge extension cord is required for this saw?
    by|Jun 22, 2016
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for contacting RIDGID. The gauge of extension cord depends on the length of the desired cord. If you are using a cord that is 10-40’ long, the gauge should be 14 or 16. If you are using a cord with length of 50’ or so, the gauge should be 14, and if you are using a cord that is 100’ long, you should be using a gauge of 12.

A:  Yes, mine is about 1/8" off from the outer edges. I'm trying to find the part number so I can get a new fence.

A:  I checked the fence when I got mine last October (2015) and it was true. I've had no issues with the saw and am very happy with my purchase.

A:  Mine is currently at the repair center due to the fence not being a perfectly straight line. Bought saw April 2016. I dropped it off at HD on September 24th, 2016. Got a call October 25th and the customer service rep told me the service tech couldn't find anything wrong with the cuts. I told her to have the service tech put a straight edge from one end of the fence to the other and the tech would notice a gap increasing the further away from the outer tips of the fence towards the center of the fence. The fence has a concave bow in it. Not very noticeable when cutting two long sections, but very noticeable if only cutting off a couple of inches if the blade is sqaure to a straight edge on the entire fence.

Q:Ridgid, when will the 12" sliding be available to purchase again?

            Answer This Question

A:  Ther are several Ridgid 12 inch sliding miter saw available in the Tampa Bay areas.

            by|May 4, 2023

A:  The 10" blade is pretty standard with sliding miter saws. Unless you are cutting miters on 6 x 6 stock, the 10" should cover all other applications. I guess I don't know what you mean when you say "... the 10" is getting harder and harder to find." If you are talking about the blade, the 10" diameter blade is very available since it is used on most table saws. If you are talking about a 10" non-sliding miter saw, there are still plenty around. I personally replaced my 12" non-sliding miter saw with the Rigid 10" sliding since I regularly cross cut boards greater than 9" wide and I needed the extra width of cut that a sliding gives me.
