Horrible product. Made the mistake of buying this instead of the similarly packaged paint&primer ceiling paint, which we have used before in multiple rooms with great success. After scraping popcorn ceiling smooth and then 2 skim coats of joint compound, a base primer coat, this horrible product ruined our efforts to make our ceiling look good. Product was shaken in store, then stirred at home but left a terrible inconsistent coverage. We used a premium 3/8" lambs wool roller, but the stipple from the poor quality of this paint ruined our work. In places there was no coverage (thin) and then in others it was gloppy, stippled looking. I'll now have to either try and sand smooth or skim coat with joint compound to repair this. Never again. Do not buy this paint.

Easy to use on popcorn ceiling...

The Behr ceiling paint did an excellent job of covering & looks great very happy.

Coverage wasn't as good as it use to be in some spots but I would not use any other! I have used it for 25 yrs or so. I like the variety and texture.

it really is low odor and it is a little thicker so one coat was all that was needed.

Definitely recommend this ceiling paint. It's thick and goes on with one coat. I love the fact that there is nearly no odor at all! Fast drying and looks great - also the price was very good.

The horrendous nature of this paint plays out in slow motion. It goes on so thin that you need to keep adding more coats to finally cover. It took three coats for me. But at this point, you will really notice the horrible streaking/flashing that shows every single roller mark. To top it off, this paint is very flat and therefore very porous, and if you try to paint something else on top, that new paint will keep soaking in to the old roller marks from the ceiling paint. So plan on 3 coats of this junk, then at least 3 coats of real paint to cover it all up again! This product is your gateway to anger, frustration, and wasted money!

After reading many, many reviews on different ceiling paints, I decided to go with this one. I consider myself an advanced painter having painted professionally (exterior) for a few summers jobs and undertaking many DIY projects over the last 20 years. However, I hadn't ever painted ceilings - just vertical walls - so this was a new experience. The reviews for all the ceiling paints were all over the place and this one had the best overall. However, there are a lot of negative reviews that worried me and I was nervous to begin painting our new ceilings in the basement that we are in the process of finishing (approx 950 sq ft). The drywall had been mudded, floated and primed with a primer/sealer combo that I'd applied thickly. This ceiling paint was not runny as some people complained about, but was rather thick and went on super smooth. I did ask the Home Depot associate to shake up the buckets I bought to make sure the paint hadn't separated at all (and to save on stirring time). I also used a thicker nap roller (1/2") - don't cheap out on a lesser quality one! The thicker nap holds in more paint and allows a smoother rolling. Aside from a few spots that need touching up, the paint covered in one coat. I do not have any streaking or flashing. The pictures I've attached just show the main ceilings painted as I need to finish up the tray/lower ceilings tomorrow. I wanted to share my experience with painting ceilings to alleviate the stress anyone else might be experiencing after reading all the negative reviews. I'm not sure why others had a hard time with this paint, but my experience with it has been great. I'd recommend this paint to anyone and will certainly use it again on future projects.

A fine product. Makes ceiling painting (ugh) easier. Thicker formula, nice application, coverage, & cleanup. I recommend Behr. Don’t buy cheap paint you’ll be sorry.

Very good coverage, easy to paint, and very good price.

Used to paint 6 rooms ceiling. Builder painted ceiling same as wall color, made room dark and in warm. After painting you now Get the WOW when you see the room with the new ceiling paint. One coat worked 95% on ceiling. No bad odor or paint smell was an added unexpected bonus. One 5 gal plus had to get 1 gal container.

This is terrible ceiling paint. We have a large family room, connected to the kitchen, which is also connected to our dining area (open floor plan). Painted the ceiling in June 2018 and one month later, the streaks are still visible. Now we have to re-paint this huge ceiling all over again.

great product

This is a true one coat paint. I used an airless sprayer and back rolled to even out the spray pattern. The coverage was about 350 to 400 sq foot / gal. using this method. Over-spray was minimal (a lot less than the primer I used). After a few touch up areas, I covered everything with one coat.

Turned my dark gray pop corn ceilings with sparkles in it to a bright white in one coat.

First of all, I don't know how this paint is even sold. I had to apply multiple coats after the second didn't even do it, and still did not turn out like I would expected. It doesn't do well over drywall repair the paint peels and show multiple streaks. I should have read more reviews on this because It looks like this is a manufacturer problem with the same results.

Worked great, l will buy more to finish my house.

Easy to work with, looks great and easy to clean

The claim to fame with this was that it was dripless. This held true. Great coverage too.

Paint was terrible. I bought two gallons to paint a living room ceiling. Paint was quite thick. First coat went on streaky and dried unevenly and showed streaks and roller marks. I used a new 3/8" nap premium roller cover. I have painted many rooms and ceilings before, but never had such problems with this paint. I had to sand down the streaks and roller lines after the first coat dried. Then, I tried adding an additive-latex extender to the paint to see if that would help. It did not. In fact, I think it made it worse. More streaks and roller marks, despite keeping a wet edge and rolling off properly. I will have to sand down entire ceiling. I bought a different brand of ceiling paint to cover up this mess.

Great value in 2 gal. size. Really brightens up older ceilings.

I always use this ceiling paint when given the option, it covers well and goes on smooth & thick.

Good coverage, two coats for the best finish, high hide, fairly low VOC, 2 gallon value, not as unwieldly as the 5 gallon, but similar value for money - especially for smaller jobs - overall a quality pro paint at a great price in a convenient format.
