The Basement Watchdog Quick Connect Pipe has a 3/16” hole intentionally drilled just beneath the check valve as a measure to prevent air lock, which can cause the pump to fail to eject water. We mark where the hole is with a red line so you can anticipate where that water will come from when the backup runs. Our recommendation would be to unplug that hole so air lock does not occur when you need the backup to run. Sorry to hear you had some problems with the installation. That weep hole is meant to be there to prevent air lock and we would advise against plugging it up if possible, We try to make it as user friendly as possible by making a red mark on the pipe to indicate which direction the spray will go.
