Much better than the old screw type.

The valve itself is a fine product but I had to return it and swap it out for a replacement because someone had ripped off the compression ring.

Life is so much simpler with this valve. Easy install....Love it!

Works. I like the quarter turn. Always use thread tape as an extra precaution.

Bought five of these BrassCraft supply valves because they look high quality and the 1/4 turn is nice. A few years later, we remodeled and went to shut off the water supplies to the sinks. Of the five bought, three of them would not shut off all the way and "weeped" water. We had to shut off the water to the whole house until we could replace the valves which inconvenienced everyone and delayed our project. Never buying BrassCraft again.

Works great easily to install

This valve was purchased to replace another failed BrassCraft valve. BrassCraft seems to have the market on this type of valves, or I'd buy another. It's hard to tell exactly how long these valves last, but they always seem to fail when you need them to work. When I say 'fail', the valve does not completely turn off the water supply, the main home valve must be shut off, which defeats the purpose of having the valve. They appear to be made primarily of plastic, which gets brittle and breaks. I have had 3 fail in the past 2 months, and probably a dozen over the past 5 years, and I only maintain 2 homes.

Nice update for my old multi-turn valves that no longer shut off the water. These valves are 1/4 turn ball valves that should work 20 years from now. Unlike the multi-turn valves, there are no rubber washers that degrade in time and disintegrate. I replaced all my valves as I placed new braided faucet supply lines. I did this after a "builder" nylon faucet supply line ruptured, destroying my family room ceiling. I can now sleep at night again.
