I had to buy 2 of these fans and both motors were loud. I had a contractor install and had to pay him twice the labor because he installed, the fan was defective and then uninstall and reinstall another one. Would not recommend this ceiling fan. Plus, at the store it looked as if some had been returned because the boxes had been opened.

If the issue persists, please make sure that all parts are properly installed and completely tightened - including the outlet box. Most noise issues can be attributed to loose parts that can cause vibration and present a humming noise. I ordered 6 fans, 3 boxes came busted and parts missing. LED bulbs that were supposed to be included were missing.

We are sorry to hear that you are having this issue. To produce a downward airflow, the lowest blade edge should be the trailing edge and the highest point of the blade should lead. If you are not feeling the airflow, please try changing the direction of the fan. The reverse switch is located just above the light on the switch cup of the fan.

Fan Is making grinding noise after few weeks
The fan is installed by an electrician. After few days it started grinding and now it is making a huge sound. The electrician thinks it is a capacitor or motor issue. Need to figure out how to fix it or replace

After hanging the fan, I turned it on and the noise. The hum was very loud and it was going in my master bedroom. So I had to take it down and put it back in the box and return it to Home Depot

I bought two !! They are very attractive ceiling fans ! Installation was easy - as per my 'installer son" They are very quiet, provide the perfect breeze that I was looking for in these unusually hot summer temperatures. We did swap out the lightbulbs - they were a bit too bright for the space but no big deal.. I also had to add extension chain pieces as both light & fan chains were too short for my 5 foot reach. Again no big deal and easily done. I picked up in store so no delivery and only customer service interaction was pick at the service desk which was uneventful.

Even on full speed, it doesn't feel like much, and it makes a constant noise.

Cheesy and cheap
I knew this fan had plastic shades when I bought it. I assumed they could be changed out with glass covers like every fan I have in my home. You can't. They included cheap plastic covers that twist and lock into place. So you can't ever change them out with something that looks nicer. stupid decision by Hampton Bay. Really? You couldn't just put 3 screws in the base of each light so we could upgrade this fan? No, you have to get a cap switch and then buy another light kit. No thanks. Returning
