Just what i was looking for, great box, and spacious.

I’m considering this purchase. I’ve read through a bunch of reviews for this fire proof chest; maybe 1/3 say they would recommend. Everyone has been happy with its size, capacity and weight; can the locking mechanism be replaced? Could an exterior latch for a padlock be installed to this unit without compromising its resistance to fire?

Key is stuck and won't retract out. I've call left message's on prompt no follow up ?

Have had this for almost a year with very little use. Noticed a few months ago that it started getting stuck a bit but didn't think it'd get like this, especially after barely any use. Now it took me a whole hour just to open this horrible safe. Now I don't want to close it because I think it'll jam shut permanently. Incredibly bad product...should've looked at reviews before purchasing. Do not recommend.

Bought this safe in April - I’ve opened and closed it a handful of times, and it’s now early November and it won’t lock. Not sure what the point of a safe is if it won’t lock and doesn't even last a year…

The safe was exactly what I needed to file important papers that wouldn’t fit in the safe deposit box. It is roomy enough to hold a lot of Pendaflex folders as well as other items that I might want to keep secure.

I bought this product in January of 2021 and by mid-July 2021 the locking mechanism would no longer properly engage to either lock or unlock. Extremely disappointed in this mediocre performance but you get what you pay for. Do not buy this product if you plan on having a quality firebox for document storage.

Good safe. Seals seem tight so it should meet manufacturer's specs on water resistance.

My first surprise came when the manual suggested opening the unit weekly for 30-60 minutes of airing to avoid moisture accumulating. Hardly what I anticipated as a replacement for a safe deposit box for important papers. One week after i received it, I opened for airing. That's when it became unusable. When I attempted to close and lock it, the key would not turn to lock and is stuck in the keyhole, rendering it useless. The manual has a page for customer support with LH Products. Two phone calls, which go to a machine because of "heavy call volume" (is that because this product is garbage?) and an email have not been responded to for 3 days--I guess calling it "customer support" is taking poetic license or wishful thinking.. At this point, I just want to know how to return it for a refund--the manual says not to return to store without authorization, and it's heavy to lug in vain.. .

Well constructed and easy to use. I'm using hanging folders to keep documents organized and its easy to remove just the folder I need without digging through everything. The only negative is trying to move it since it is quit heavy. There are indentations at the base on 2 sides which help with lifting it but they are not true handles. I would buy it again.

I bought this for my greeting card collection which I had in a plastic box but I wanted something that was fireproof & waterproof. I have put most of my cards in it but I can’t fit them all in so some are laying across the top of others. This is because the wall thickness of the chest takes up more room than I realized and so is not as big on the interior as I thought that it was. From now on, I will remember that I need to know the interior measurements not just the exterior measurements of a chest.

Its good. Was just surprised with how well the rest of the safe is built that they chose to put chinsy plastic clamps & the tiniest river gasket on it. Meh everything is made so cheeply anymore. Its frustrating.

I'm really please with this product, my 60 old mother is very happy with this safe. She has issues with remember where she puts her important paperwork, so this actually make it easier for her. Great space and easy for a older folk to use.

the day after the arrival of my item the key stuck inside the key hole and I could not get it out. I called the number that I was instructed to call that was inserted with the item by the manufacture. The answering machine came on, I left a message and to this day no one has returned my call so I returned it to Home Depot where I bought it . Home Depot associates tried to dislodge the key and it could not be removed so I was awarded my money back. Its a good thing I did not put my important files inside because I wouldn't know what to do. I would not recommend this item to anyone.

Compared to other protective chests it was the best. The chest is heavier than I expected so it is hard to move around. Some sort of handles would be nice. Plan on leaving it in one place and everything is great.
