This used to come in a cardboard box on a spool (300 ft in box). Now it is coiled tightly into the bucket like twine. The problem is that instead of unrolling straight easy to install spline from the spool, you pull out spline that has been tightly curled and wants to re-curl and not lay into the screen frame channel. I had a 25 year old box of the 300' on roller which was running out and bought this bucket to finish a rescreening job, so I could make a direct comparison of using the old spline from the old and far better packaging with the new spline with the terrible packaging and the spline from the bucket was much more difficult to use. I recommend buying some other makers .175 spline or buying smaller quantities to avoid having to deal with twisted squirmy spline.

Worked well. It's a solid foam profile, unlike the traditional bibbed tube style. It was a bit of struggle with the tight fit in the Screen Tight base even with the Pfifer fiberglass screen. Once I got used to how it slid in it got a little easier. I used over 600 feet on the latest project.

This is an interesting product in that I expected it to be like the traditional rubberized spline material. This is more of a foam material like you shove into cracks as weatherstripping. It holds just as well as rubberized splining. You just have to really "convince it” to press in. The procedure I used was to start the strip in the track, then stretch the screen and use a couple small pieces as “placeholders" that I pressed in further down the screen, taking them out as I came to them with the strip. I also poked the spline in every couple inches and came back and rolled it into the track. In the end the screens came out very tight which is the goal!

It did what it was supposed to do. Highly recommend the plastic tool to put this in. Anything metal/wood and you can accidentally rip a screen.

Like the dispenser box, & ease to install. I had 4 panels to redo, & I got it done in less time than I though it would take. However, it was just as easy for the racoon to pull off a section of the screen I just fixed. I might need to use the more textured spline, that is harder to install & remove, next time.

    Very cheap
This product has changed to a styrofoam type product. Very different from the previous rubber material. Very difficult to install unlike its predecessor.

Used 23 base and covers for 7 screened porch removable panels so I was able to do them on the floor as opposed to vertically installed. Used almost 300 screws to attach base pieces and about 65 linear feet of screen (48” width). The system works very well and had no problems using their .175 spline. I had watched a YouTube video made by an individual that covered the entire installation process plus tools needed and tips - definitely worth watching to avoid potential problems and mistakes.

This recommended spline is too thick and difficult to work with. If the recommended spline is that tight the the material should be more flexible or pliable

Tends to tangle straight out of the box. Some reverse “unwinding “ is required to make it easy to feed. Seems to be great!

I never received this item. It is supposed to be under investigation and be re-imbursed. I have the Packing list and it said it was in a long box with the Base and Cap for Screen tight. The box was 6 ft long and 4 " around with no Spline. The spline I purchased the first time was in it's own red box. Please refund me on this item!!!!!!!!!!!
