Best Ever !
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] OMG ! I can't say enough about this dryer. It's performance goes above and beyond any dryer on the market. The features are fabulous. Drys quickly, sanitizes towels & sheets ( or anything). Very quiet and efficient. Love the design. Comes with a shoe rack for ease of drying, so you don't hear the shoes banging around in the dryer. love this machine.

      mold in Load & Go
Had this installed less than 5 months ago and recently took this photo of the inside of the compartment where the Load & Go dispenser is housed. Noted some mold on the L&G dispenser itself after just a few months, but figured I needed to let the compartment airdry which I began doing periodically. The mold has continued and i inspected the entire are more thoroughly and noted mold throughout, especially in the back of the compartment which is not reachable for cleaning. I'm going to try to get a different unit, assuming this will ultimately lead to a recall when enough consumers realize this issue.

Looks great and washes even better!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After ten years of reliable service we moved up to a new washer and handed off our still operational Whirlpool. The new features and quieter operation made the difference. We particularly like the steam option and the wider array of washing options. Great product!

I bought this washer (WFW92HEFW) in July 2016 for $748. (It's now March 2017.) We use it around 3 or 4 times per week. Reading other people's on-line washing machine reviews helped me a lot when I was shopping for a new washer. I hope this review will help you, as well! So here goes: I love this model washer -- I like it best of the four I've owned, mainly because of the great features, great design, and easy-to-use control panel. My favorite feature is the automatic detergent dispenser. It's an enclosed-drawer like fitting that you can pull out easily for cleaning or refilling. I love this feature because it helps keep the laundry room clean -- no detergent spills to clean up. I just pull out the tray and refill it over the sink. So easy and convenient! This feature is pure genius. Also, the machine decides how much detergent to use based on the load size and cycle. Again, pure genius. This model has a "fan fresh" feature, which I love. Wet clothes don't get moldy or musty if I forget the laundry and leave wet clothes in the machine. Another feature I like is the "Control Lock". Once you start a load, you can lock the control panel. The controls on the washer are activated by touch, which means you can easily trigger changes to a running load if you bump the panel by accident. Activating the Control Lock feature prevents this. The only problem we've had is that a couple of times (2 or 3) the door would not unlatch when there were wet clothes in the washer. This happened when some-one accidentally (or on purpose) changed the settings during washing. Unplugging the machine and then plugging it back in after a few minutes fixed the problem. I guess that works because it forces all the on-board electronics to reset. Another reason I decided to buy this washer was ease of getting them fixed. An appliance repair person told me Whirlpool has a good supply chain. I also heard their customer support is good. Good luck with your hunt for the perfect washer. This one comes pretty close, in my opinion!

Whirlpool will never get our business again, and I strongly recommend you don’t give them yours either. Worst customer service and worst warranty service we have ever experienced. Here’s what happened… We have a 10-month-old front-load “Load and Go” washing machine from Whirlpool that came with our new house. One evening it began leaking all over the floor. Tons of water. Total mess. Since the machine was still under warranty (<12 months) we called Whirlpool and they arranged to have a technician come out. The technician found a small hole in the rubber sealing the door that led the water to leak under the machine. He said it happens all the time with these models and ordered a replacement, which took 4 days. Then a new technician came to install it, but the washer still leaked. This guy identified another problem, which was a blown hose. The hose had literally burst like a balloon. He ordered a replacement, which took 4 days. He replaced the hose, which then blew again on the second load. We were pretty fed up at this point and called Whirlpool and asked them to replace the washing machine. They refused, saying that they needed to continue trying to repair it. I asked when how many tries it takes before you just replace it and they told me that they don’t have a set number but they clearly weren’t going to do it yet. The technician ordered a new hose and all the surrounding parts (the entire assembly, he said). Another 4 days. He replaces it. Guess what? Still doesn’t work. He sees that the wiring from the agitator has gotten fried somehow too. He picks up a replacement at an appliance shop three days later and puts it in. Still doesn’t work. Whirlpool won’t replace the machine unless the technician tells them it’s totaled. Even though the guy who worked on it thinks it should be replaced but his boss, the owner of the service shop, doesn’t want to call it in. Seems likely that Whirlpool would penalize him if he did. The owner tells us he will come to our house personally at 6 pm that night to look at it himself. Doesn’t show. Never even calls. I call Whirlpool again, explain the situation (again), and demand a new washer. They say they can’t do anything without the technician’s report. I tell them the owner of the repair shop won’t even show, and that I have no control over whether he calls them or not. They tell me they have to look into it. I haven’t had a working washing machine for over three weeks and I’ve spent countless hours away from work to be home so that technicians could work on it. Shouldn’t happen with a product under warranty. Shouldn’t happen after just 10 months. Shouldn’t happen at all. Do not buy Whirlpool.

                  The Perfect Addition!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We upgraded our washer/dryer mostly for cosmetic reasons as we're remodeling our laundry room. However, we've been beyond happy with the performance of this unit as well! Not only is it sophisticated and stylish, it gets my laundry far cleaner than our other washer (which I thought worked fine) and is totally customizable. It's also surprisingly quiet. Our only complaint would be the way it plugs into the outlet at a 90 degree angle, which limits how far you can push the unit back up against the wall. A shorter plug or a different angle would work better. For now we're using a flat extension cord with rotating plug to gain a few more inches.

This has got to be one of the best washers (and dryers) out there right now. LOVE IT. Lots of features (my fave: the machine intuits the size of the load and adds the appropriate amount of water AND detergent, both)and love the fanfresh option. My clothes are three times cleaner than with my old Whirlpool model which lasted 20 years at least. And the extra fast spin option means your clothes come out almost dry. As a matter of fact I no longer feel the need for a separate dryer and have hung a retractable clothesline in my laundry room instead. I will save on energy costs this way and be greener, which we should all aim to do....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second set of whirlpool washer and dryer! They are awesome. I handed down my first set to my daughter and she loves them too. I wanted a new color so I purchased the chrome shadow, which is gorgeous!!! I love the load and go feature!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our older model gave up after 12 years of good service, so we just replaced it with a bewer model. 2 complaints, the contauner that you load with detergent collects a lot of mold, so we don't use it. #2, would like to increase the qash time but I don't know how to!Plenty of options for was cycles, presoak, wash temps and spin speeds.

Washer Mold Ruined All My Clothes
After only two months of use, all clothes washed in this machine began smelling terrible. After removing the detergent container, I discovered this was due to excessive amounts of mold (see images). This is only what can be seen from the outside. I am terrified of what the rest of the inside of the washer looks like. This washer made all clothes dirtier than when they entered the mashing due to the mold and can the clothes no longer be worn due to the stench which even other washers which function perfectly cannot remove. Thousands of dollars worth of clothing now have a terrible stench need to be replaced. Whirlpool considers this "functioning as designed". I do not recommend anyone purchase this washer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have only had it for a short while but cleans really well. We have a baby and on normal cycle it cleaned her messiest of diapers. We are happy with it. Just measure your space carefully because of the curved front it adds more than you think. We had to adjust our door hardware!

Very nice washer. Does a great job.
This washer has a nice load capacity. I can wash a half a dozen pairs of jeans with no problem. It does a great job of spinning out most of the water which really helps in drying time. This unit comes with some features like load n go for the detergent and I didn't know if that was much of a benefit for me but I have to say its pretty nice. I put enough detergent for 12 loads. I kind of like it. A lot less mess. The clothes come out clean and it does a nice job with them. I didn't have anything that looked like it had extra wear and tear like some of the top load washers. The units are a little quieter than i expected which is nice. My old washer wash pretty loud and I could hear it through the whole house. This one not so much if you are in the room with them.

One of the best new washers available!
Bought this washer along with the dryer as a pair during the July sale and man is this thing amazing. Makes washing clothes fun as it has so many bells and whistles. The buttons are touch sensitive, so theres no buttons to be pushed in or to break for that matter. The features are endless and it has every option for any scenario. Clothes come out smelling fresh and are warm and almost dry thanks to the fast spin cycle. The dryer twin senses the dampness and adjusts the time based on how wet your clothes are. Running a normal cycle at half full, the dryer finished drying my clothes perfectly at around 20 min without over drying including my 2 pair of jeans. My past washer and dryer was from 2002 so this is a huge upgrade. Drying clothes before took over 50 min or more on high heat vs low heat on the new dryer. This will surely translate into a decent savings over the lifetime if i kept fixing our old washer and dryers which only need minor repairs. The washer is also super quiet, which is nice since my last one sounded like the large hadron collider was starting up during its spin cycle.. Coming from a top loader, I don't ever see myself going back to those types ever again. Also the guys who delivered it where amazing. Nice, friendly and ever gave me a new hose for the hot water line since it was super old and patched up. Don't hesitate, Get this pair and make your life a little easier instantly.

We love it! Looks great. Easy to install and use. Lots of features. Very quiet. No leaks. Huge capacity.
This Whirlpool front-load washing machine in Chrome Shadow (a dark grey metallic color) is beautiful in appearance and washes clothes extremely well. The machine is physically larger and, according to the guys that delivered it, substantially heavier than the 8 year old other brand of washer it replaced. Installation is very easy, and took only a few minutes using a pair of medium-sized channel lock pliers to attach the hot and cold supply lines and drain tube. A drain tube with attached spring clamp is included, but the water supply lines are not, at least the delivery guys didnt leave me any. The washer features a number of options for washing clothes including a fan fresh cycle that periodically rotates the washed clothing in the machine for up to 12 hours, to keep them from becoming stagnant and smelly. This washer uses HE liquid laundry detergent. The reservoir holds enough detergent for up to 12 loads of laundry, which eliminates the need to add detergent at the beginning of every wash and the possibility of using too much or too little detergent. So that the machine doesn’t leak water, prior to use, it’s important to level the machine from left to right and front to back using a bubble level and adjusting the feet accordingly. Due to the weight of the machine, I’d recommend starting with the back feet and working towards the front. The interior of the washer is beautifully finished in stainless steel and is illuminated with LED lighting which is controlled by a door switch. From the factory, the door swings right to left. My dryer is located to the left of the washing machine, so a left to right opening door would be ideal for transfer of washed clothes to the dryer, but the hinge position of the door cannot be reversed. There are a lot of buttons on the control panel, but I find that I don’t change settings all that much, if at all; more often than not opting to use one of the presets for Normal, Cold Wash or Delicates, but you can customize certain wash cycles by overriding the presets and selecting the Wash Temp, Spin, Soil and length of Pre-Soak, if any. This machine sits lower to the floor than my old machine, and requires more bending over to load and unload, so I plan to eventually purchase the optional pedestal for each of the washer and dryer to increase the height of the machines by 15-inches, and provide storage for detergent and fabric softener. The pedestals are costly, but aside from saving my back, they add to the appearance of the washer and dryer. We have used the machine a dozen times since it was installed, and are absolutely thrilled with it. The machine runs very quietly, even while spinning at its highest speed and draining, and does not leak due to a large rubber gasket. At the end of the wash cycle, the machine makes a pleasant chime. One thing to note however is that time remaining refers to the cycle and not the minutes remaining until the wash is done. Overall, my family and I are extremely satisfied with this washing machine, as well as the matching gas dryer, and highly recommend it.

Looks great and works well too!
We love our new Whirlpool front load washer. It looks great and performs well too. The chrome shadow finish is absolutely beautiful. The oversized door also looks great and is functional. It has all the different cycles that we need and it's packed with nice features, and some of our favorites are: steam clean , quick wash (short cycle), EcoBoost (environment friendly cycle), delayed start, in addition to the specific cycles for washing whites, towels, delicates, etc... A nice feature is also the Load & Go which allows you to fill up the detergent chamber once and use it for several washes, so you don't need to add detergent every time. You cannot do that with the softener though, which kind of reduces the benefit from the Load & Go feature. It also comes with an LED light that lights up the stainless steel basket really well. The washer has a very good capacity, cleans very well and is quiet too. The controls are easy to use and are pretty intuitive. Recommended!

                          Excellent Large Capacity Washer
I got this washer to replace a top loader washer I have had for approximately 25 years so the features on this washer were particularly impressive. My old washer only had a couple controls which prompted me to actually read the instructions for this washer. I recommend that everyone read the instructions too so you understand all the different settings in addition to how to clean the inside of the washer since many people complain that front loading washers sometimes begin to smell inside. The instructions give you specific information on how to prevent that problem so it is to your benefit to read them. This washer has settings for numerous different cycles. A couple of the more unique settings are "Wash and dry" and "Clean washer with Affresh". The "Wash and dry" setting allows you to wash a couple clothing items made of synthetic material and at the end of the wash cycle, it will tumble the clothes with a fan running and it will dry the clothes. This allows you to put the clothes in the washer at night and come out the next morning to clothes that are already dry. It's important to remember it can only work with a very small number of clothes and it will not work with cotton or natural material. It's still a nice feature. The "Clean washer with Affresh" is a cycle used to clean the inside of the washer. "Affresh" is a product specifically made to clean the washer. Use this cycle and product if you want the washer to stay clean inside. In addition to the different wash cycles, you can adjust them for five different water temperatures, four different speed spin cycles, and four different soil settings. You can also set the washer to "pre-soak" the load for 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 8 hours. The pre-soak feature is nice if you have a very dirty load of laundry. You can also set the washer to do an extra rinse which would obviously use more water. One final feature is the "steam clean" feature which is supposed to do a better job of cleaning but I couldn't tell how effective that is. This washer has an automatic detergent dispenser but you can also add detergent manually if you choose but I don't know why you would. You also adjust the detergent level based on the detergent concentration. Make sure you set the washer for the proper concentration so you use the right amount of detergent. I love the automatic dispenser to there's no more having to pour the detergent in a cup. The dispenser holds enough detergent for many loads of laundry. In the detergent holder, you can also add liquid bleach and fabric softener but that is only for one load of laundry. This washer holds a large amount of laundry and one of the first things I noticed was how it uses very little water (yes, I stared through the door to watch it). Compared to my old top loader, this will significantly lessen my water usage which is great considering the California drought. Don't worry about the small amount of water it uses because it still does a great job of cleaning the laundry. Another thing I noticed is if you use the high speed spin cycle, it does a great job of removing water which lessens the drying time. I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting to include in this review but the bottom line is, it's an excellent, energy efficient washer. I would definitely recommend it.

                          Environmentally friendly washing machine
This washer is engineered to be very convenient and thorough on wash day but environmentally friendly as well. Our old Whirlpool machine was very dependable for a number of years but was pretty basic. This machine washes larger loads than our old machine but uses less water and detergent to get better results. Using liquid HE detergent there is the option of using either a single load’s worth or filling the Load and Go cartridge for up to 36 loads (It also has a signal to warn if the cartridge is down to a couple of loads worth of detergent or completely empty). This cartridge is located in a convenient drawer at the upper left hand corner of the washer. This drawer also contains the cups to dispense liquid bleach and liquid fabric softener at appropriate times during the wash cycle. When loaded and ready to go there is a broad selection of options about how the wash load is to be processed by the machine. The LED info light and control button panel are in the upper right side of the machine. Start time can be delayed for up to 12 hours so you can have a freshly washed load when returning home from work or shopping (they don’t have to sit for hours to go sour and be rewashed before hitting the dryer). Temperature for each cycle can use either a preset for that cycle or adjusted for type of fabric and soil being washed. The machine can be adjusted for water hardness or softness. Some of the preset spin speeds can be manually changed to reduce wrinkling if that’s desired. An extra rinse cycle can be added as well as a presoak time of your choice. Between each cycle (or whenever you pause the cycle) the ‘Add Garment’ light comes on to allow you to put more stuff into the load if you wish. Although the wash time is preset for each cycle, soil settings can be reset to compensate for really dirty or special stuff and the machine automatically recalculates the estimated time remaining for the load (Lower wash times reduce tangling and wrinkling according to the manual). There is an EcoBoost option which reduces hot water usage and lengthens the wash time on some cycles and a Steam Clean option which adds additional soak and wash time to some cycles as well as a steam boost to help remove some tough stains. There is a FanFresh cycle which periodically tumbles the load for up to 12 hours after the last cycle to blow air through the load to reduce humidity. The Wash and Dry cycle is similar to Fan Fresh for small loads like gym clothes or athletic uniforms. The machine gives a flashing signal after about 30 loads to let you clean the washer with Affresh to keep it from collecting soil from your loads and not cleaning as thoroughly. Finally, there is a control lock (which disallows little toddler fingers from changing your settings – we found very quickly that we needed this). My only advice concerning this machine (our last one was a top loader and this one front loads) is to get the pedestal accessory for it to make it more comfortable to use and keep it out of the reach of the toddler’s button pushing fingers. Well, it doesn’t walk the dog or do your grocery shopping but when it comes to doing the washing the right way this is the one to use.

Takes Laundry To A Whole New Level
We found this beautiful new Whirlpool® 4.5 cu. ft. Front Load Washer takes doing laundry to a whole new level. Some of the features we have found most useful are the Load and Go system; it allows us to add enough HE Detergent to do twelve loads. The delayed start is handy and we use the Wash and Dry cycle often, especially for a workout outfit or my favorite polo shirt. They come out clean, dry and ready to wear. The FanFresh feature has eliminated the musty odor we used to get in our old washer from leaving wet towels in the washer too long. As an example my wife inherited a heavy woven 100% cotton king size bedspread that had been packed away soiled over twenty years ago. She would have never attempted to wash it in her old machine. She put it in our new Whirlpool at bed time, selected the sanitation cycle with the FanFresh option. The next morning not only was the bedspread completely clean, it was fluffy and damp dry. This machine is intuitive to use. You simply press the power button, turn the dial to one of 12 custom cycles, add your special options such as FanFresh, Delay Start, Steam or Extra Rinse then you press start. It’s as simple as that. The washer is very quiet and runs smooth. The Whirlpool quality is evident; you see it in the connectors, heavy braided hoses, the stainless steel drum, the sturdy metal construction, the touch control panel with the LED lights as well as the over-all fit and finish. It’s an attractive machine that is Energy Star qualified with a CEE Tier III rating. It has an Ecoboost option that provides additional savings. With its Adaptive Wash technology it senses the needs of each specific load and things such as water level are controlled automatically. In summary we recommend this washing machine. Our clothes are being washed faster, coming cleaner, while using less water, detergent and power than any washing machine we have ever owned. It comes with a limited one year warranty. I have provided some photos and a short demo video, I hope they help.

Wonderful washer with huge options and adjustments.
This washer is extremely efficient in its water use, and has been so well thought out, I am actually astounded. Lets start with the door to the front loader. The rubber seal which in most washers of this type actually catches water and can become moldy, is designed to be very easily dried and cleaned with a rag. It also is set up to drain effectively to avoid any mold build up. Nice. The controls and programming are extremely well thought out. It is obvious someone at Whirlpool actually does laundries and talks to many others doing laundry. The options to create the correct cycle are many and each cycle has extended options to fine tune those options. So you can set linens and adjust the cycle to add some extra time for very soiled or not. You can also add time or reduce time while the cycle is running if you decide that it needs a bit more or less. Wow. The soap container has a removable liquid dispenser with an optional tablet dispenser which is easily changed. This machine has the ability to store and regulate multiple washes which you only have add detergent once for many washes (if that is your thing). This machine was well packed, and the delivery of this machine was very well done with zero damage or dents. Now any negatives to list.... This machine is a bit noisier than expected with some motor noise noticeable during the cycles. Not bad, but noticeable. The front panel controls with the color we chose makes the controls a bit hard to read in dim light. It would be nice if the contrast was higher for the printing of the control labels. Anyway - We are extremely happy with this machine and absolutely love the obvious high quality and well thought out controls and options. So I highly recommend this as one of the best washers out there.

                          Delievered Defective
Ordered the Washer on June 29th, as a replacement for a 2004 Duet. The 04 model did an outstanding job and even was able to be transferred from Virginia to Florida and started up right away. The 2015 Model has had fault codes from day one and within two weeks I have had two service calls trying to repair it. The technician now thinks it is a shut off switch for the drain pump. The estimated time to repair it will be almost Aug 1; a whole month that it will be sitting in the laundry room gathering dust, unable to be used.

                            Excellent Washer
It was time to update our ten year old Kenmore top load washer and dryer. We analyzed numerous brands, models, and available features before making this purchase. After firming up the product choice, we hunted for the best bargain. Home Depot was the best choice hands down when including cost of the units, pedestals, delivery, and 5 year warranty. It is hard to compare new versus old considering the type and age of our previous units. Top load versus new front load. The washer cleans our clothes better than our previous unit. The clothes honestly look and smell fresher, yet it uses far less water. Most noticeable on workout and running clothes. It is also easier on the clothes considering it doesn't have an agitator. It is extremely quite, to the point of wondering whether it was actually on. Our favorite feature is the fan fresh option. It basically means no more revolving your day around laundry. Turn this feature on, throw your laundry in; and it doesn't matter if you don't move to dryer for up to 12 hours. The fan and rotation keep your clothes from getting the dreaded mildew smell. It can also be used as a wash and dry option for very small loads. Hard to believe no other manufacturer finds this useful. It has all the wash selection options we would ever need. Can't speak on durability this early in the game, however it is made in the USA. Plus we added the inexpensive 5 year warranty from Home Depot. Our only complaint is not with the units, but with delivery. We had two individuals complete the delivery. One was a veteran, while the other was on the job less than 90 days. The novice made the mistake of hooking the dolly on the front of the unit. Therefore our pedestal front had minor scratches and dents.
