Answer This Question
A: The CDU800 carries a Three year warranty. Should you need to use the warranty you will need your receipt/proof of purchase and the serial number of the pump. The serial number can be found on a white tag zip-tied to the power cord. We strongly suggest you leave this tag attached to the cord. If you have any additional question please let us know.

Q:It looks like the installation manual says to use a 22" high basin, it looks like the pump is 14" high. Will this work in a 17" high basin? I don't see why it wouldn't. I am in a situation where it will work much better to use a shorter basin.

Answer This Question
A: This pump is 12" in height. They are designed to be used indoors in a basement sump pit to pump clear run off rain water that has filtered down thru a drain tile. Usually the drain tile empties into the pit towards the top. (Installation illustration in the manual) This is why we recommend the pit to be a little taller to allow room for the drain tile to drain.

Q:I don't have a sump basin, just a crawlspace foundation floor that slopes. is it sufficient if i just place the pump in a low-point?

Answer This Question
A: These units can be used in crawl space as long as they are pumping clear water only. The unit will come on when the water level reaches 9" from the bottom of the pump and shut off when the water level drops to 4" from the bottom of the pump.

A: If the enclosed space holds water 6”deep or more it should work. Level the pump to operate properly.

A: I don’t believe that will work. There is a 3/4-1” rise from the floor to the top of the base so you’d end up having at least an inch of water before the pump would begin to pump. My suggestion is to use a pool pump that will pick up water as it begins to accumulate. The negative side of this is that you have to manually plug this type of pump each time you want it to work. Hope this helps

Q:will reducing the outlet to 3/4 copper hurt the pump? im wanting to use it for if my water sofener leaks i want to use the existing copper line to drain the collection pan.

Answer This Question
A: It will not hurt the pump, it will reduce the flow rate which may not be a problem in this case.

A: The sump pumps are designed with a 1 1/2" discharge. They can be reduced to 1 1/4" but no smaller. By reducing the pipe down smaller, you cause a back pressure on the pump and will damage the motor. Also, our sump pumps are designed for clear water only. Discharge from a Water Softener is considered brine water and will damage the pump and void the warranty.
