the outdoor tape worked well

I got frost king brand and the plastic was clear but it distorted the view,m. Tore it off and bought this. Much better. Way way better. Can hardly tell it’s there, except for a few thin lines running across it that you can only see if you look for them. Highly approve. Standard 3M quality.

have always used 3m kits does what it is suppose to do never leaves any glue a good product at a reasonable price

A little tricky to separate the folded sheet but works as advertised!

This product stays nice and secure all winter long I would guess due to the extremely secure adhesive that is used however come time to remove is quite the job due to the tough adhesive that is used. Even with the bed adhesive remover products that are sold I find year after year that I am reapplying my anti draft product and having to go over the older residue from the year prior. The only way I was able to remove it completely ended up being a trim paint remover as well.

I'm giving it a rating of "4" for now because I want to see how it holds up after a couple of months of being on the windows outside. I did like how easy it was to set up and apply. Thanks for the speedy response in sending it out.

It worked perfectly for our needs with one exception. It was not the least bit obvious that the plastic was so tightly packed that you could not tell it was folded in half. For quite a while we thought the plastic size was cut improperly. The length was correct but the width was only half of what we thought it should be. Three people looked at it and finally someone discovered it needed to be separated to be unfolded to full-size. Also, the online video said to use a hair dryer to shrink it but the directions on the box said nothing about it.

Hi 3M! I love all your products and I have a wide variety of them in my houuse. I recently bought the 3M Outdoor Window Insulator Kit, Patio Door product and I have1 suggestion to improve the product installation process. Please add a tab on the film that says "Pull Here" so that customers that don't read the instructions will still know that there is 1 more fold of film to get to. During installation I noticed the film was a bit shorter than advertised so I had to go run to the hardware store to get another box, but they were out so had to get a competitor brand to add to the 3M film. After installation, during clean-up found the tip to use tape to unfold the last half of the film. Ugh.

Just went through the polar vortex of 2019. Have been using this product for years on a large picture window. Installed as usual this fall and all was well until yesterday. Is there an issue with tape adhesion at -25? We got up the other morning and living room was colder than normal and interior of window was frosted over. Went outside and my sheeting was gone. Tape is still on the frame. Would negative temperature have been the issue? Supposed to get in Mid 40's this weekend in Chicago, so going try and reinstall new sheet for the rest of the winter.

Ordered 2 kits. I applied the tape to the metal casing as instructed. 1 came off after 2 days - tape was ruined. The 2nd one lasted a month before catastrophically failing. Both failed during wind/rain storms. The adhesive just didn't hold up to the weather here in Northern California.

Insulator kit was a bit intimidating but once we started it was a snap. Hoping it last through the harsh winter fingers crossed!

I buy the outdoor kit for 2 long windows each year. Have tried other brands but they are not as good. I order the "outdoor" kit online as I can't find it in the stores. This product does a great job.

I had such high hopes for this product. But it failed. I did everything correct, it doesn't take a professional to follow the easy directions.

Was exactly what I needed to seal up my patio doors at our cottage for winter.

I haven't installed them yet but it is the same brand I have used for many years and I expect the quality to be the same. I wish I could walk into a store and and take them home with me rather than getting them through Home Depot on line!!!!!!!

It was very easy to put up and I had no trouble at all.

It will not take care of all the cold but it certantly will help redude the cold coming in.

I installed this product as soon as I got home, and I have already noticed a tremendous difference in the comfort of my kitchen.

I have used the 3M window insulator kit for several years. This window film is the clearest I have found and holds up very well throughout the winter. I just wish the stores would carry the 3M line instead of ordering the product online

Great product! Better than all the other ones sold at home depot in store.

It worked as advertised. Does not show signs of loosening.
