I purchased this a couple years ago. I had issues within a month after. I have used the recommended staples but the gun would jam up. I finally figured a work around and it’s been ok for most part till today. Somehow a row of staples became caught under the loading assembly. I finally managed to dialog them but in the process the tension spring became unhooked. I can’t find anyway to take it apart to reconnect the spring - if I can. I will play around trying to get it reattached but it will probably hit the garbage. The time I have spent trying to get it to work, well if I was working during that time, I could have bought many more. It’s too bad as I have other dewalt tools and they have always been reliable.

Easy putting in the staples and feels light in the hand, for that easy squeeze!

I have several Dewalt tools and for the most have been happy with them. With this stapler however my satisfaction could not be lower. I bought this stapler to replace my aging Arrow brand stapler which after 50+ plus years of use finally gave up the ghost. This Dewalt stapler looked like it would be a suitable replacement but after loading it up with staples this was not to be the case. Once loaded with staples the stapler "misfired" so many times I lost count. I replaced the row of staples several times hoping that it was the staples that were the problem but the same misfiring kept happening. I was going to use this tool to replace the vinyl on my bar stools but ended up retuning the stapler for a refund.

Could not get this thing to work period. It was a gift so I did not pay for it (in a manner of speaking) but I really wanted one. Boy was I wrong. If your considering one don’t bother.

This stapler jams just about every single time you try to staple. It did the same thing on various sized staples and I was only stapling 3mm plastic off a roll. It took me 30 minutes to put enough staples in the sheet of plastic to cover my front door. I would not recommend this stapler!

I expected top-notch quality from Dewalt opting to spend the money for a name-brand tool on something that would last. This staple gun jams greater than 50% of the time. I wish I returned it within the first year.

This staple gun is the worst I have ever seen, the staples get jammed and u spend more time removing the jam than you do working so dont wate your money

I don't believe it's anywhere near as bad as people say. I've had 1 jam while going through about 1500 staples, and it was in a knot so I blame myself for it. Most of the time on knots it'll mangle the staple without really going in but shouldn't jam. It does seem to lack power, you can get results but with more effort than I hoped. Going into SPF studs with 1/2" staples it was good ~90% of the time, which I'm happy with. OSB sheathing I'd say 70%, though it's just better to use a hammer tacker on sheets anyway. It's requires quite a bit of force pushing on it so if you're reaching with it expect poor results. My dad hates it for that reason. I only used nails to make some birdhouses from 1/4" plywood and it worked perfectly.

Third one bought— only one that handles 5-1.. only lasts 2 years with moderate use

Worst stapler I have ever bought. Returned it the next day. Jams all the time and does 5 things in 1.....and stapling is not one of them.

Junk !!!!! This staple gun jams a lot. Tried both the Arrow T20 and the Dewalt staples and didn’t make a difference still jams up after about 10 to 20 staples

excellent product worked as stated

I bought this tool and went through the provided staples. After purchasing more of the exact staples to match what was provided with the gun it just stopped working. Nothing is blocking the area where the staple ejects. The action settings all seem to be working and I did not change anything. Very disappointing. I had a contractor friend look at it and he can see no reason why not working either. It is just a manual stapler it should be a non issue especially something less than 6 months old.

Would be 5stars if the staple guide was better!

I have two main jobs with which I normally use a staple gun. It hardly does either. Maybe one out of every five staples actually goes in as expected. Even test firing onto a block of wood I get no consistent results. All settings/pressure yield different results. I bought this to replace my old Arrow staple gun which was cheaper and perfect. I usually prefer Dewalt over anything; not this time. Not worth the wasting the money or staples. I would give it 0 out of 5, but 1 is as low as I can go.

Waste of money. Get a different one. Wastes a tremendous amount of staples. Fifty fifty chance if one will even come out and when it does it shoots out about four at a time. I’ve tried three different staple types. Same results.
