bought 2 of these locks, One quit working within 2 weeks, also hard to see in sunlight, and hit or miss on fingerprint reader

I purchased a UL3 lock about 2 years ago and have loved it. Recently there was an issue with unlocking the door using the key pad. I checked the website which was filled with helpful troubleshooting. After trying the options the lock still did not work. I contacted customer service (Julie Z. assisted) and after only a couple of emails a replacement part was in the mail. Julie provided advice to wait 0.5 s after entering code before opening the door as opening too early can cause additional wear. Thanks for all the help.

I like to go running and not needing to carry my set of keys, I have been using the lock for about 3 years and so far I have not had any issue whatsoever. Please bear in mind that the fingerprint feature works as long as your hands are not wet, otherwise it works perfectly, I also like the convenience of unlocking either through the app or using a code on the numpad. Excellent product, highly recommended

This lock is of a premium quality build. Once installed (on Interior Building Door) with the simple template & instructions, it has been the talk of the office. Working in an Automotive dealership there are an excess of 40 employees which the Ultraloq UL3 BT can keep registered with their own logins (Fingerprint/Touch Code/App Access) which allowed us to keep the room secure while also limiting the need to physically touch anything other than the handle (which was especially important during the COVID-19 initial response) to access the secured room. The app may have its flaws when we first bought this (6 months ago), but with firmware updates it's been optimized more which is a great feature being able to "update" your door lock software. I couldn't been happier with the product and management has given many compliments to the aesthetic modern & futuristic look this lock brings to the workplace. The batteries last quite awhile being that its run on 3 double A batteries. The door is opened nearly 100 times a day and we change them everyone 6 months or so depending on use. This lock is a great purchase and hasn't loosened or had any issues aside from the intended operation of its mechanical or software design. One of the few smart locks that isn’t exclusively a dead bolt. Has been reliable so far, primarily use the thumb print entry which has been good, occasionally requires a second attempt but nil real issues.

Our ambulance base bought one of these door locks and we love it. We programmed everyone to have their own code to keep track of traffic in and out of the building. Great for accountability! Easy to install and program.

I bought this lock because I was worried about my younger kids giving out the code to their friends. The biometric feature is great. I have never had an issue with it and I love in the north east where it gets very cold. Great customer service as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got the BT version for more features, I did the installation and took around 25 minutes. Programming from the App was seamless, it can take some time to connect to my lock.

We bought this to prevent kids access to the pantry. Was easy to replace the existing door handle with no need for new drilling or holes. Once installed (5 minutes), the application made registering fingerprints a snap. Recommend registering several angles of the same figure to account for ways you might actually use the fingerprint analyzer. Has worked great for my wife and I with no issues regarding recognizing our prints. I would recommend this for anyone with kids to create a nice space to safely store things out of reach.

Purchased this product to prevent kids from accessing the pantry. Was relatively easy to install, except for one mis-threaded screw. Fit the standard door handle cutout without the need to drill new holes which was great. Once installed, the application made it extremely easy to program and then use. We have had no problems with recognition of the fingerprints and works exactly as advertised. This is a great product, especially for the price.

The fingerprint feature is my favorite. I never want a normal door knob/lock again. Everyone that visits loves it. Highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced the non BT version and it was simple. Had some problems adding to second iPhone with Admin username but eventually resolved.

I honestly purchased the Ultraloq UL3 as a fancy smart home gadget, that would make my life easier, but also to add a “coolness” factor to my home. Between smart doorbells, alarm system, sensors, etc. I thought it was time to add a keyless lock to the list. After much research I went with the UL3, great design (I love the look), Connect from tablet and phone (I can lock/unlock from anywhere in the house...as long as bluetooth is available), the ability to program a “temporary key” to visitors (like friends and family), and that I can still use the lock in a traditional fashion (from outside I can use my key in the even of low batteries, and inside I can simply turn the cylinder). The first decision I had to make was installation location. Due to the price, although I’d like to install on all exterior doors, I only purchased two, and chose to install on my front and garage door. This happens to be the doors most frequently use, and the one my hands will often be the most full going through (between grocery trips, heading in/out the door before/after work with coffee, computer, etc., or for my wife with the kids, book bags, etc.). Installation was simple, and the lock was installed in less than an hour. The Bluetooth instructions were extremely intuitive, and well thought out. The handle is great with a clean look, and nothing would get frustratingly caught on while running out the door. After installation, I strongly suggest testing your unit to make sure everything operates correctly. I LOVE the setting of auto unlocking when I get in close proximity. It’s great because I can have my hands full and don’t need to get my keys out of my pocket. I’ve also enjoyed the “temporary key” function, and use it when parents or family visit (especially if arriving late at night). The key would be great for people with visitors, dog walkers, etc. Thrse features will gain even more importance as my kids grow and can do more on their own. In conclusion...So far, my experience has been outstanding. Honestly, for me this is a nice-to-have for most. I bought it for the fun and love the features. I love keeping my keys in my pocket, and being able to check if my door is locked from my device. In the future if the cost comes down I’ll have them on all my doors. I rate this a 5/5 and would definitely purchase again.

I have never been able to get the finger print recognition to work consistently.

It's an awesome device. I just can't figure out why the battery keeps showing as "low" when I have changed it.

This could be measured better as we had to remove our deadbolt to make it fit. But it still did not cover the entire hole, so we had to caulk, cover and repaint the difference. But otherwise the lock was really easy to install (10 minutes or so). The app doesn't work unless you're standing right next to it and/or purchase the additional Blue Tooth add-on. But for fingerprints and codes, it works great!
