What should I bring when moving into my college dorm?
We've got your dorm essentials. Get storage containers or moving boxes to transport your belongings, and be ready with disinfecting wipes and cleaning supplies. Bring a tub of spackle to fill old nail holes and Command adhesive hooks to hang string lights and wall art. Make the room your own with wall decals and area rugs. Extension cords and power strips let you place lamps, countertop microwaves, and mini fridges where you need them. If you didn't get a new school backpack yet, we've got those, too. Be prepared to head to college with helpful products from your local Home Depot.
How can I prepare my home for summer temps?
Be confident your home is equipped for summertime temps by replacing faulty parts of your hardscaping. On the outside of your home, inspect shingles or metal roofs for damage or rust that could let water in. Keep gutters functional and clear to prevent excess water from seeping beneath your shingles when storms arrive. Chimney caps and vinyl siding should be changed out if they're badly weathered. Also, check cinder blocks and bricks for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces. If moisture gets inside the crevices, you might be looking at a problem.
What kinds of moving boxes do you have?
Make your move easier by picking up a variety of moving boxes. We've got the sizes you've been searching for, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion your items with bubble cushion and moving blankets to ensure your belongings make it to your next location safely. Don't forget to check out our rental moving trucks if you need those, too.
Should I get an inverter generator or a portable generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for whatever circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with severe thunderstorms or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power when the elements take it out. When exploring different generators for sale, keep in mind that inverter generators cost more than portable generators, but they're also quieter and cleaner. Always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
Do you carry wireless or wired doorbell cameras?
Enjoy privacy, safety, and peace of mind with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. Stop peeking through a window when you can view animal or human visitors in real time. Some doorbell cameras even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, a useful interaction to scare off potential porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Most cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you easy accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
What's the project for the free Kids Workshop in August?
Don't miss our Kids Workshop from 9–12 noon on 8/1/2026. Give your children a taste of the joy of building with this cool pint-sized rocket game. Building this small wooden spaceship is a great way to sharpen fine motor skills, creativity, and listening abilities. Team up with your little ones to make this quick craft while supplies last. Remember to enjoy the fruits of your labor and leave some time to play with others!
