The 90 degree handle design on the BrassCraft 1/2 in. Nominal Push Connect Inlet x 3/8 in. O.D. Compression Outlet 1/4-Turn Angle Valve allows you to stop the water flow leading to a plumbing fixture without disrupting the entire house flow. The Push Connect valve feature makes installation easy requiring no special tools, soldering or glue for a watertight seal. This angle valve is best used where the water pipe enters the room from the floor and on faucets, toilets, dishwashers, icemakers or washing machines.

the copper pipe for a bathroom sink measures 5/8 in., what valve will fit that?
Yes! 1/2" nominal compression would be the same as 5/8" OD compression.
Will this work with polybutylene?
No, this valve is not approved for direct connection to polybutylene tubing. Polybutylene installations require a transition fitting specifically designed for polybutylene pipe. The valve shown is intended for use with 1/2" copper, CPVC, or PEX tubing that meets the product specifications. RA
The defective valves will need to be desoldered. What is the minimum recommended distance to the next elbows, assuming I don't want to tear up the bathroom floor to chase leaking solder joints.
The primary concern is preventing heat from reaching adjacent solder joints during valve replacement. A qualified plumber can typically desolder and replace the valve with elbows located only a few inches away by using appropriate heat shields, heat-blocking compounds, or wet rags to protect nearby connections.
My shutoff for my old refrigerator is in the basement can I use this between the existing supply line and the inlet on the refrigerator? The H D delivery need the shutoff on the same floor behind the unit.
A refrigerator water line is 1/4" OD compression. We do not offer a 1/4" OD compression X 1/4" OD compression water stop. You could use a OR07X C1 (SKU# 247917) 1/2" FIP X 1/4" OD compression outlet with an adapter on the inlet- Part number: 68-4-8X - 1/2" MIP X 1/4" OD compression adapter to connect to the existing 1/4" OD compression ice maker line. Will this outlet work with my flexible hose 3/8 on the sink?
As long as the inlet of your existing flexible water supply is 3/8" OD compression this valve will work. 3/8" OD compression would be considered the most common connection size for water stop to supply line.
