Q:I have some stubborn wallpaper backing that won't come off. Can I skimcoat this over it and how many square feet will it cover so I can do the entire wall?

A:  Destiny- We would suggest that you do a test patch and mock-up of a section of this wall to determine if the USG All Purpose Ready-Mixed Joint Compound will adhere, and you are satisfied with the final appearance.

          New buckets are bad
The new black buckets have made this mud unusable. The plastic is so soft on the bucket that pieces will shave off and get into mud. Doesnt matter if mixed by hand or with tool, pieces come off the bucket and ruin the mud. Even scooping with a trowel in the bucket with cause shavings of the bucket to come off. Why the switch? Is this plastic cheaper for them? I bet it is for them but it wont be for you, use "black bucket" mud at your own risk

            Shrinkflation?
My favorite type of drywall spackle has a fresh look with the black bucket. Unfortunately the bucket is less full than ever. It used to be you could expect it to be full up to near the top. This batch was a full 3” below the rim. I hope this is not a regular occurrence.

Bought it and used it immediately with both mesh tape for regular sheetrock seams, and paper tape for corners. The consistency was perfect. It didn't drip but was pliable and easy to manipulate. A day later, I mixed it with water and, using a paint roller followed by a wide scraper trowel, I applied the skimcoat. I will by this product again.

                  Partially empty bucket
When I got home 1/3 of the bucket was empty and missing product. I took it back and the whole pallet was that way. They cheated the customer even with these higher prices.

Easy for first time drywall project
Got two of these for my garage remodeling project. Just use a mixer attachment with your power drill to mix it up. Added a little water for final coat to thin it out - but just a little water. For a first time doing mudding, it was breeze to use in my opinion.
