Wifi and blue will not connect. Poor instructions week software

Easy to set up and control!

Easy to install and set up. I did contact customer support for a minor wi-fi connection issue, but that was quickly and efficiently remedied. Timer has been installed to water the garden for over two weeks now and does so without any issues! Vegetables are thriving!

I have and am still using the same 5 of these timers for the past 6+ years. Couple of tricky points I want to add. (A) The hub is very important to how well the unit will work. You want to install it half way between your router and the timer. Orbit used-to sell these timers without the hub. Now I can't find one sold by itself. I think maybe so many user have connectivity issues, Orbit decide to bundle the hub without choice. You need just one hub regardless of how many hose end timers. And if you already run a full size hard-wired B-Hvye station, you don't need the hub. (B) If you can't connect with WIFI to the unit. Close the phone, turn on bluetooth (make sure your are within range), then load the app again. Try until you connect this way. Usually I will connect within 2 more times. (C) Use rechargeable batteries to save money. On average, I have it turn ON twice a day for 4 min each time, my batteries (2,000 mah) last for 2+ month before needing to recharge. The app will say your batteries are low, but they will last. Reason is because it is design to read regular alkaline battery's fresh starting voltage of 1.5v or 1.6v. Rechargeable battery has fully charge voltage at 1.4v only. So the timer thinks the batteries are dying even when fully charged. I never had one timer fail on me. When its battery power are low (about 20%) it will notify you on the app and not turn ON the sprinkler in case it doesn't have power to shut itself off.

Like this product a lot - especially the ability to program it or manually run it remotely. Definitely worth the money.

I spent hours with Orbit support and tried three different units before I found out the unit only works with 2.4 wifi. It doesn't work with 5.0 which it what I have. if you want to connect via wifi and have 5.0 this is not the unit.

Using in vacation home/camp. Wifi access is great for this. What I learned so far: 1st download the B hyve app. For combo faucet timer AND wifi hub you must Add both devices. After device 1 is added, you will start over at beginning to add device 2. Keep going, it’ll get you there. Use “Watering Budget” to extend run time, eg 4 hrs can extend to 8 hrs via 200%. Add another Zone for more time. Valve is fully open or closed, does not regulate flow rate. Test it lots before you leave it.

Works but very quirky. However, the date and the on/off seem out of synch. Also, very very difficult to set up.

Constant disconnects Bluetooth only worked on day one. Wi-Fi never worked. Please avoid

The package failed to explain the hub was Gen I and would not operate my other B-Hyve device. Very poor communication.

I use it over the internet and it works great. I bought 2 for front and rear yards and I recommend them. No problems plus you can adjust it on your cell.

Dont waste your money. Youll spend more time trying to get it to work properly than you will if you just do it yourself. It may connect right away, but it wont stay connected for long. I wish i hadn’t wasted my money on a product that i “thought” would make my life easier. Definitely not worth the money!!

I am going to return it because it is not working

Works like a champ. Controls are easy to use... and the link to my iPhone is a nice feature. The only item I added to my setup is a water meter that lets me know how much water I'm actually distributing to my nozzles. (The Orbit does seem to have the ability to measure water flow, if it is above a certain level. I'm only watering 5 shrubs and it didn't have sufficient flow to detect. The $8 meter is a great add-on.

The valve itself is bluethooth. Then its got this dongle that connects to your wifi and from there over bluetooth to the vavle. Did I mention that this dongle isn't weatherproof? So you have to have an outlet with good wifi and able to reach the valve over bluetooth. This thing is completely useless to me.
