This product creates a "water hammer" in pipes
I purchased two of these devices. Unfortunately, when the device turns the water off at the spigot, it causes a loud "water hammer," in my pipes. This hammer causes a lot of pressure in the pipes and is not good for the plumbing. I reached out to orbit for a solution and they suggested I buy a "water hammer arrestor." I purchased the arrestor, and had the arrestor installed on my pipes. This install took some time.The problem persisted with the water hammer and I reached out again to orbit.They had no other solutions and refused to give me a refund due to me being outside the 30 day return window. I would not recommend this product.

    This Product Failed and Flooded the Side of my House
    I purchased this product as a solution to water my garden along the side of my house. One day, I came home in the evening (5:00PM roughly) and noticed that the sprinklers attached to the timer were on and had been on since the 9:00AM watering scheduled earlier that day. Consequently, the side of my house was flooded and I received a watering bill that was $550 higher than normal. The situation could not have possibly been controlled by a misstep on my part, as the maximum watering window allowed in the app for the product is 2 hours. I had it set up for an automatic, twice-daily, 10-minute water. After reaching out to the manufacturer and submitting my claim, photographs, water bills, and a detailed explanation, the claims manager with Orbit, denied it after 6 months of communications, as she and her team could not recreate the issue with the damaged product (which they admit showed signs of water damage in the form of swollen batteries and leaking battery acid on the internal parts). BOTTOM LINE, the gatekeeper between severe water damage to your house and massive watering bills, is a $60 electronic device that is not fully water proof after months of use. I was skeptical of this exact scenario when I bought the product and I can personally attest that it happened to me. Do not leave exterior faucets permanently open and trust this product.

      THIS IS A PIECE OF JUNK! I've tried for over a year and $3,000 worth of plants and sod only to have none of my 4 units work like they should. in addition I've spent no less than a hundred hours and 59 calls to customer service without any resolution. save your money and headaches by not buying this product.

            We purchased this system for our front and back yards. The setup of the equipment was fairly easy, but the software/app setup was a little challenging. Eventually, we were able to connect the faucets to the hub (we bought an extra faucet timer through the Orbit website, since HD didn't offer the faucet-olny option) and they have been pretty consistent and easy to control via the app. Side note: They don't qualify for the WaterSense rebate in WA state.

            Mine worked fine for one season. After replacing batteries and reconnecting, it wouldn’t open the valve to let water through even when it was running. Orbit Lawn Garden Life sent me a new one, and the batteries died within 36 hrs. I FB messaged about it, and was told it’s a glitch in the app. I replaced batteries about 5 times, before deciding it wasn’t worth continuing to hassle with. The new timer worked great and ran at first, until that first set of batteries died. It then would no longer ‘click’ open the valve to let water through after that, even though in the app it would say it was running. I don’t want to risk my garden success on something thats not working. It’s just a brick in my garage now. I’ve emailed and messaged for support without any definitive answers. I know they’re short staffed with Covid, but it’s been long enough that I believe I’m just being ignored. All firmware is up to date. I’m going to a manual timer now, because at least that will be more dependable. Don’t waste your money on this.

              If your water source is a well or if you travel I don’t recommend this product as it can get stuck in the open position and run for days. I’ve researched the forums and found others that have had the problem. When you contact support all they ask you to do is update firmware, which was done at the time I activated (less than 30 days from purchase), or remove and reinstall from your account. This however does not work it failed again and I’m very concerned that it will fail when I’m gone and drain my well and/or burn out my pump.
