Great plates, the joist hagers are expensive

I like to use these mending plates when I build a shed. I have used them to hold the trusses together and also for 4x4x8 putting 2 together for a 16' base for a shed. They work great an have a strong hold. You can nail right thru oe if you need to.

They did the job. Worked great .

Hard to put on 2x4's but if you are careful and patient they do a really good job

Nails are too short

these I used on a garden gate...work good and grip very nicely

I bought this to prevent the ends of roof rafters from further splitting. I had a very hard time hammering this thing into the wood. The pins were bending and not penetrating the wood as easily as I anticipated. I had to use small nails to hold them in place. I think his may have happened because the wood hardened from the age, but I doubt it, as the nails went in just as smoothly as they would go in a new piece of wood.

I had to go back to Home Depot and buy nails. I couldn't get the plates to fasten

These plates are some of the best items I have found. I have used them for framing edges of windows during construction to ensure when stucco and sheetrock are applied there is no cracking at the corners. I have used them on wooden gates to re-enforce the framing, ensuring no sagging once built. I have used them to extend a wall when plans have changed. They work great for attaching curbs for sky-lights to roof framing. Also, as corner re-enforcement for a wooden playground structure; where with the holes, I also screwed through with "Simpson" screws for even more rigidity. They can be cut into special shapes as needed too. LOVE THEM.
