Q:What setting on the scotts elite should I use for the bioadvanced fungus control
by|Jul 17, 2022
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Hi Chris! Unfortunately we do not have data for that particular spreader but I can still help with a recommendation. The goal of the product is to apply 3 1/2 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. when treating an active fungus. We would recommend selecting a lower setting, not the lowest, but a setting under the halfway point in your range and applying evenly. Jessica

Q:Can Fungus Control be applied with fertalizer?
    by|Jul 7, 2022
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Hello William! A fertilizer may be applied after the granules have been watered in and allowed to dry completely however, please be aware that application of a fertilizer to an active fungus may stimulate fungus growth. We would recommend not applying fertilizer until the fungus has been eliminated. Jessica

      Q:How to use properly

A:  apply it to the spots that have the fungus

      by|Jun 27, 2022

A:  Hi, Carlos. It is not necessary to roto till the lawn before the application. We recommend applying 3.5 lbs per 1,000 square feet to the entire lawn as the spores of the fungus can spread. The product should be applied every 2 weeks until control is achieved. -Madison

        by|Jun 16, 2022

A:  you can just put in the spots you have the fungus but of course it's a good ideal to do the whole yard but i've done both

          by|Jun 18, 2022

A:  Just spray on the fungus spots and let dry as long as bottle says.

            by|Jun 18, 2022

A:  No just apply like a normal granular fertilizer. No tilling! You can buy a spray too (sorry, my previous answer thought this was a liquid).

                Q:is this a systemic treatment ?

                Answer This Question

A:  Yes! The active ingredient of propiconazole is rapidly absorbed by the assimilating parts of the plant, mostly within one hour of treatment. It is transported acropetally (upwards) in the xylem. This systemic translocation contributes to good distribution of the active ingredient within the plant tissue. Jessica

                    Answer This Question

A:  Hi Peter! We recommend applying when rain is not predicted for 24 hours. A heavy rain could cause runoff or possible dilution. We would recommend watering in after application with 1/4-1/2 inch of water. The product does become rain proof once allowed to dry completely. Jessica

A:  I can’t remember the weather when I applied it. Suggest reading the label. Can’t say it worked great either, but helped

A:  If you are expecting heavy rain, I would hold off, but it does need to be watered in so that it can be absorbed through the root system.  Too much rain could cause it to run off and "pool".  I usually apply it, then use my irrigation system for 5-10 minutes to get the granules to wash down to the ground surface and be absorbed.  Just my opinion.  I'm not a professional.

A:  this product can be used immediately after rain as the flakes will stick on grass blades , can also be used on sunny days as long as you water lawn and apply before lawn drys out for best results.

A:  No, you should not use before a rainstorm. It should only be lightly watered when applied. The product is used due to the over-watering of your lawn, so you do not want to apply before a rainstorm. Works better when it is applied, watered, and sunny weather is expected.

A:  Thank you for asking! When using our fungus control for lawns visible results will depend on the severity of the fungus. For an existing fungus you will want to make repeat applications in 14 day intervals until the desired control is achieved. Squoria

A:  The grass that has fungus will still show the fungal patches until it is mowed. The new grass should grow in without the fungus.

A:  Hi Julie! You would need temperatures to be under 85 degrees while applying and until the product has been watered in and allowed to dry to avoid possible turf burn. To keep pets safe you would want to keep them out of the area while applying and until watered in and allowed to dry completely. Once dry it is safe for pets to reenter the treated area. Jessica

A:  I'm sure the Bioadvanced reps will emphasize the temperature, but I have put it on during a heat wave and done fine with it. It HAS to be watered in well to get into the soil to work. And that will also make it pretty much a non-factor with pets. I have a large St Bernard who is in the yard a lot....I always water the granules well (maybe a half inch or so) to ensure the granules are off the grass leaves, and she ignores it entirely. Here in Iowa we're in a hot, dry stretch like many other states and it's NOW that rust (my main problem) starts to appear, so I tend to let that tell me when to apply.

A:  I'm sure the Bioadvanced rep will have a more definitive answer, but I would wait until two decent rains or irrigations, and a couple mowings. You'd want it in the soil before you apply other products. I've never had any issues over the years doing it this way.
